Everyday Life...
David usually wakes up (at 6:00 am) with a huge grin. He will play by himself in the crib for a while until I am ready to get him up and start the day.
David is starting cereal, which adds a lot of time in the morning because it is so messy! More of the food gets on him than in his mouth.
After cereal and a bottle its time for a breathing treatment. David developed RSV over the Christmas holiday and has had to do breathing treatments daily ever since. He is much better, but still has his days of coughing.
On a work day, David and I pack up and are out the door (hopefully) by 7:20. He stays with Angie, a dear friend of mine and her 2 year old son Clayton. David seems really happy with them, but I miss him terribly during the day!
At home or Angie's, David plays with all his toys. Usually he takes a morning nap, has a bottle, plays a little more and then takes a long afternoon nap. He is really a good little sleeper!
The Bumbo seat is one of David's favorites places to be when he is not sleeping or eating. He loves to sit tall in the seat so he can see everything.
David also loves his Pooh Bear. I'm not sure why, but he talks like crazy to him all the time! You can tell in this picture that David is beginning to show signs of sitting up too.
Of course David loves his Exersaucer. He tries to eat every toy on the tray!
Although we hardly ever seem him cry, I had to include this picture. It is an immediate cry of "put me to bed, I'm tired!"
David gets another helping of "real food". The only other food we've tried is sweet potatoes, which he has grown to like as well.
After the very orange sweet potato feast is over, he clearly needs a bath! David loves bathtime and his new game is putting everything I use to bathe him in his mouth.
and then we talk and play! David loves his changing table. We have some of our best conversations here!
After two stories, prayers and some rocking it is 6:30 pm and David is off to sleep for the night. It is my favorite time of day with him. I wish I had a picture of him listening to his books, he tries to turn the pages for me and then simply stares at me while I read. He is truly a joy to be with everyday!

Dani,
It was so special to hear from you. The internet has made the world so small. David is precious. I would love to hear more about how you and your husband are doing, seminary, and motherhood. Jonathan graduated from seminary in December of 2003. He is currently the associate/youth pastor at First Baptist Church of Clewiston (South Florida). If you get a chance, e-mail me at lbcake_14@hotmail.com. God Bless!
