Everyday Life...

David is 5 months old now and growing so much! We are just recovering from all the holiday travel and getting back into a routine. I thought it would be neat for all of our friends and family to see what David does on a day-to-day basis. Enjoy!

David usually wakes up (at 6:00 am) with a huge grin. He will play by himself in the crib for a while until I am ready to get him up and start the day.

David is starting cereal, which adds a lot of time in the morning because it is so messy! More of the food gets on him than in his mouth.

After cereal and a bottle its time for a breathing treatment. David developed RSV over the Christmas holiday and has had to do breathing treatments daily ever since. He is much better, but still has his days of coughing.

On a work day, David and I pack up and are out the door (hopefully) by 7:20. He stays with Angie, a dear friend of mine and her 2 year old son Clayton. David seems really happy with them, but I miss him terribly during the day!

At home or Angie's, David plays with all his toys. Usually he takes a morning nap, has a bottle, plays a little more and then takes a long afternoon nap. He is really a good little sleeper!

The Bumbo seat is one of David's favorites places to be when he is not sleeping or eating. He loves to sit tall in the seat so he can see everything.

David also loves his Pooh Bear. I'm not sure why, but he talks like crazy to him all the time! You can tell in this picture that David is beginning to show signs of sitting up too.

Of course David loves his Exersaucer. He tries to eat every toy on the tray!

Although we hardly ever seem him cry, I had to include this picture. It is an immediate cry of "put me to bed, I'm tired!"

David gets another helping of "real food". The only other food we've tried is sweet potatoes, which he has grown to like as well.

After the very orange sweet potato feast is over, he clearly needs a bath! David loves bathtime and his new game is putting everything I use to bathe him in his mouth.

We get all dried off...

and then we talk and play! David loves his changing table. We have some of our best conversations here!

After two stories, prayers and some rocking it is 6:30 pm and David is off to sleep for the night. It is my favorite time of day with him. I wish I had a picture of him listening to his books, he tries to turn the pages for me and then simply stares at me while I read. He is truly a joy to be with everyday!

David's First Christmas, Part Two!

We traveled back to S.C. on Christmas day to visit David's Poppa Dock (Trey's dad) and Mimi (Trey's mom). The trip was a blast! David got a ton of presents, tasted lemons and limes (thanks Aunt Courtney!), visited many of our favorite restaurants, did some shopping, and spent lots of time with family. We hoped to go out on Poppa Dock's big boat but ran out of time. Maybe this summer when it is warmer. David had so much fun he almost seemed bored when we returned to Texas on Saturday. We got back to Fort Worth just in time for Keystone's New Year's Eve bash. The holidays were great and we had a wonderful time visiting with our families. We love each of you and can't wait to see you soon!

David and his Aunt Courtney, who now lives in the Big Apple!

David modeling his new U.S.C. hat. Go Cocks!

Dylan and Zachary gave David this basketball goal for Christmas and he loved watching the balls go through the hoop. I'm sure he'll be playing it by himself in no time!

David and his Aunt Janet, who he truly loves. His face doesn't seem so happy in this picture but he usually gives her big smiles!

David and his Great Grandmother, Loulie. He was very content to sit in her lap and visit.

We made a quick stop in Columbia to see some friends. This is David and "The Guys". David had never met Trey (Calvin), Eric, Curtis, or Doug. He made quite an impression!

David spent his New Year's with friends Kailey (left) and Avery (right) Hernandez. We hired two babysitters to watch the kids while we partied it up at Keystone's Black and White Affair. Afterwards we celebrated Trey's 26th birthday. We had a wonderful time and I think the kids had fun too!
