Brotherly love...

David is loving his baby brother!!! I am actually VERY surprised at just how much he seems to love Jon. When he saw him in the hospital, he giggled really softly and kept a silly grin on his face the entire time he held him. His visits to see us were short, but even now that we are home things are great. He asks to hold him often and is very gentle with him. It also helps that Mimi, DeeDee, Daddy T, Trey and myself are here right now, so attention is not a problem :)!

David's first attempt to hold Jon.

My sweet little men!

Here is David showing off the gift that Jon gave him... a Gamecock football uniform with a helmet. He loves it!

Late Night Pics

I am not as good as Dani with the story telling, but I wanted to share a few quick pictures of our new buddy.

Both Dani and Jon are happy and healthy!

And Heeeere's Johnny!

Jonathan Dock Kelly was born today at 4:03 pm. He weighs 8 pounds, 9 oz.

Jon and Dani are both doing great!

We will try to post some pics tonight!

Breaking News . . .

We are at the hospital. Dani went in this morning for a check-up and was already 5 cm dilated. She is resting and we are waiting to meet our new son. We think he should be here by 4 or 5 central time.

Stay tuned!

Didn't work...

Not even the anxiety of the Clemson game could send me into labor! There's always next year Gamecocks...

Still no baby...

We just returned from the doctor and not much has changed... Jonathan is still low, but I'm only dilated to a 1. So, Dr. Mendez said he would see me first thing Monday morning if not before. The same thing happened with David, so we weren't too disappointed when he sent us home instead of going to the hospital. Plus now I can get all my Christmas stuff up and get most of my shopping done! And we have TONS of Thanksgiving food sitting around to eat, maybe I can just eat my way into labor :)!!!

Happy Early Thanksgiving

Since there is a chance Jonathan could join us tomorrow, we decided to cook Thanksgiving dinner tonight. Here is our little turkey holding up his placemat he made at school... he kept running through the house yelling "Happy Thanksgiving" and waving his placemat. It was really cute!

Here we are as a family of 3, almost 4! I have a doctor's appointment at 8:30 in the morning... either I've progressed enough to be admitted to the hospital OR we wait a few more days. How exciting!

Trey was in charge of the turkey this year and it was delicious! He and his dad fried it on our front walk (the only flat place to safely cook outside)! It turned out great!

David and Mimi watch the turkey and sing silly songs!

After dinner, David spent some time cuddling with his Papa Dock.

We wish you all a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving! We hope our little one arrives soon and we'll update as soon as we can with the latest... what an exciting time!

Mommy and David Day

It occured to me yesterday that today is probably the last day I would have to spend with just David and myself for a really long time... and while I don't usually think like the "the glass is half empty", it brought about a TON of emotions. I can't wait to meet Jonathan and to love on him, but I got a little sad. So, I planned a day for just David and myself. We went to church last night (gotta love Saturday night service!), which left the entire day open. Trey had to work and is now at the Cowboy's game so David and I hit all his favorite spots. It was really fun and kinda special to spend so much time focusing on just him! David is a real joy to be around and I now I feel like we are both ready to welcome Jonathan and enjoy him together!

Our first stop was the park. I was going to attempt the zoo, but didn't know if I could walk around that long. My contractions are getting stronger each day! Plus, David would just as well play baseball and run around.

He loves to run the bases and slide yelling "safe"!

We stayed at the park for over an hour and then headed to Central Market for lunch. They also have a playground and yummy, fresh food! I let David get what he wanted... pizza and french fries. Needless to say, he won't be picking out his meals for a long time since he already chooses junk :)!

After lunch and time on the playground we headed over to Southlake Town Center. David threw pennies in the fountain...

And ate ice cream! Yes, folks, its 80 degrees here today! He even told me be wanted "ba-nilla" as his flavor and he picked out the cone. I can't believe he is getting to be so big!

David had fun looking at all the "kiss-mas" decorations before he headed home and both took a long nap. I love my little man so much and we had a wonderful day!

"My Jonathan"

At dinner last night, David struck up a conversation about the baby. He pointed to his belly and said he had a baby brother and then started laughing. As you know, the 2's come with the infamous "mine!" phase. Well, I told him mommy had the baby in her tummy and he just smiled and said "No mommy, that's my Jonathan!". It was too cute! I hope he still feels that way once Jonathan actually arrives!

I'm still pregnant...

but it is getting close! I went to the doctor today. J's heartbeat was great and he said he is in position. I am at 0 station... which I'm guessing, from the the way I walk, is really low. Dr. Mendez also said that I was beginning to dilate, but not much at this point. That is a blessing... he probably needs to "cook" another week anyway! I am just amazed at how much more uncomfortable I am so early with Jonathan compared to David. I guess it's because my body has done this before. Either that or I just forgot with David. I KNOW I am carrying much lower at this point than I did with David, which is most of the reason for discomfort. So, we are thankful all is well and now I feel like I might actually finish my "to do" list (do you ever REALLY finish???) and maybe think about Christmas shopping, since I don't think I'll feel like it in the next few weeks! Thanks for your prayers and sweet comments. We can't wait to meet Jonathan!!!

Jonathan's Room and an Update!

Here are some pictures of Jonathan's room... it is done!

It is all the same stuff we used for David with the exception of a few items. I must admit it is really nice to use the same stuff, especially since it is my favorite room in the house. There is just something about a nursery that is sweet. Special thanks to Mimi for sewing the curtains. They had to be cut off to fit the smaller window and she did a great job!

The walls could use some paint, but we just didn't have the time (or energy)!

The cradle you see will not stay in the room, we will use it in our room (or the den). It was my cradle when I was a baby.

And the last picture is Jonathan's coming home outfit that I picked up today. Thank you Daddy T and Dee Dee! You can't see all the details, but it is baby blue with the sweetest cording around the edges. And it is SO SOFT. I love it!

And the best news is I'm officially 36 weeks or more! I was suppose to have an appointment Wednesday, but my doctor wanted to see me first thing this morning. The reason??? I CAN'T WALK on my right leg. I spent most of today hobbling between doctor's offices. Long story short... they were checking to make sure I didn't have a blood clot in my leg (yes, this can be very serious). There are no clots and the reason for the constant pain is actually positive (I have to remind myself of this!). After checking my legs this morning, my doctor decided to see if I had made any progress because there must be some reason I'm in so much pain. Well, his exact words were "Whoa! His head is VERY low!" No dialation yet, but he is head down and really putting a lot of pressure on me. I know it could still be weeks, but it was nice to know I'm enduring the pain because we are getting closer! J's heart beat was great and he is trying his hardest to make sure he remains the baby of the family :)! What a stinker!

*We have some shelves to paint/hang and then I'll post pictures of the "big brother" in his new room!
