"Merry Chris-kras!"

David agreed (with the bribe of M&M's) to sit in front of the tree this year for a picture. He wanted to wear the Santa hat too! Oh, and the "Chris-kras" is how he says Christmas these days... he walks around the house yelling "Ho, ho, ho, Merry Chris-kras". Too cute!

I think these pictures show just a little of his personality :)!

He can be so funny and really does love to make us laugh. What a joy!

One of my favorites!

This is one of my favorite outfits of Jon's!

I am also remembering how difficult it is to catch a good picture of a newborn. He really is a pumpkin :)!

My little sis is getting married!!!

Aren't they a beautiful couple?!? Congrats to "Aunt B" and now "Uncle Matt"! We are so excited for you guys and can't wait to see you in person to give big hugs!!! We miss you bunches!

Update on how it's really going...

This is where I found David last night... I was changing Jon, who decided to spray me, the wall, the changing table, and all that was near when I hear "I stuck!" coming from the bathroom. And incase your wondering, yes he did turn on the water and soak himself!

And today David is running fever... the excitment never ends!

So, how's it REALLY going???

Life with 2 is wonderfully crazy! Now that we have been getting used to the "new normal" for almost 3 weeks, I can say that it just doesn't get any better than this! We've had a few bumps along the way, but all were minor and we are so thankful for our sweet family of 4!
David had one long, hard week after all the attention (i.e. grandparents) left. He spent a few days crying over everything, especially the word "no" and nothing seemed to make him smile. However, he never took it out on Jon. He truly LOVES his brother and likes being a big kid by helping. David wants to read books to Jon, bath Jon, and hold him all the time. The other day he told me "I HAVE to tell him secret!"... so he leaned down and whispered "I love you" to Jon. I thought I would cry, it was so sweet! And the other day he put a baseball in Jon's lap and said "keep your eye on the ball". I guess he is trying to teach him about baseball already! We are thankful the transition was short lived and David is back to his happy, 2 year old self!
Just for documentation I want to add a few things that David does now that he is sharing his world with Jon:
- He sleeps with a stuffed animal every night now (see above picture)
- He always wants his milk cup while I give Jon his milk
- He likes to "rearrange" the toys in his room while I'm nursing and can't get up (see picture below!)
- He has been waking up some nights and wants to get in bed with his daddy
David has been spending more one-on-one time with his daddy and they are both loving the extra attention ;)! So, I guess we are all getting used to the differences around here... David is coping well and I'm getting used to parts of my house looking like this:
YIKES!

Jon' first bath

Jon's umbilical cord feel off after about 12 days, so we were able to give him his first bath! Although these are not the most flattering pictures of my newborn, it was the best I could do with my "helper" being very hands on!

Jon didn't cry or make a sound, even when David accidently poured water all over his face... twice!

Big brother had a BLAST and wants to give Jonathan a bath every night!

Jon at 2 weeks...

he is huge! He already weighs 10 lbs. 5 ozs. That means he gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks! Yeah!!! Some of you already know what a huge answer to prayer that is... David and I didn't get to do the whole nursing thing for too long and it was a battle from the beginning. I truly prayed that Jon would not have the same struggles since it added a lot of stress to the first few weeks. Well, God is so good, Jon has no trouble other than maybe wanting to eat too much :)! Jon has also grown 1 inch and is now in size 1 diapers. His newborn clothes never really fit and now the 0-3 month clothing seems a little snug in length. We are so thankful for our BIG, healthy boy!

We tried!

Here is our first attempt at pictures of the boys in front of the tree. We actually took these last week when grandparents were here to help... I'm not sure a good picture will happen this year!

David liked getting to hold Jon at the time, but this past week has been a little tough. I guess you can just say he was, ummm, adjusting to life with a sibling!

I won't smile, but I'll pretend laugh!

I think Jon's had enough! I'll try again when I've had more sleep. It seems Jon's days and nights are mixed up. I'm also working on his birth story so I won't forget the special day! Hopefully I can post it soon!

Precious...

I hope to have time for a longer post later... maybe tomorrow when my 2 year old goes to school :)! Just wanted to post that we are SO in love with this little guy. All is well and I can't believe Jon will be a week old tomorrow!
