David's 2 Year Well Check-Up

David is growing so much, here are the stats from his 2 year well check:

Height: 36.5 inches (95%)
Weight: 30 lbs. (75%)
Head: I don't remember, plus he has so much hair I don't think it would be very accurate :)!

David was quite the entertainer this time for Dr. Deitchman and his nurses. He would "fake laugh" when they said something to him and then he would tell one of his "jokes" back. He had to get one shot and he didn't even cry... what a big boy! He just said "Ouch! That hurt..." to the nurse and then asked for a ball. It was a great visit because David is healthy and growing right on track. Dr. Deitchman used the "formula" to predict David's height and he said he would be 6'1". As long as both of my boys pass me, we'll be fine :). We love this little guy so much and are thankful for his health, personality, and energy!

After his doctor's appointment, lunch, and a nap we went to get another hair cut. The girl actually did a great job this time, but probably wanted to kill me. I decided I would stand right by David and tell her when to stop cutting. It worked! So here are some fun photos post haircut. David was having a great time throwing pennies in the fountain!

He still won't stand still long enough for me to get a good picture, arrrr!

"Sure!" is David's new answer for yes. I don't know where he picked it up... maybe at school. But if you ask him a question... "Would you like to go see the fountain?" he excitedly answers "SURE!" and takes off. He is too funny!

Football Saturday

Just another typical Saturday at the Kelly house watching football! Here is a picture of David being super silly... he is showing me "touchdown" and then laughing and putting his hands on his head when I take the picture so I don't quite catch the actual motion of touchdown. Boys will be boys!

Chilin' on the couch with Daddy while we watch games. Thank you, Mimi, for my jersey! I love it!

I think one of the reasons I like football Saturdays so much is b/c we are home all together more during the day. Most Saturday mornings David and I make a trip to the yummy donut shop around the corner from our house, he goes in his pj's and crocks (so cute). Then after we get dressed, we make a trip to the farmer's market to get our produce for the week. The rest of the day is spent inside watching David and his daddy play football, taking a long nap, and just being together.

We'll be cheering hard for the Gamecocks tonight!

Baby Update

28 weeks, 2 days (we think, see below)
Baby Heartbeat: 140's
Weight gain: 12 lbs. total

Today was my glucose test so the appointment was long, but eventful! I drank the sugary juice (which gave me heartburn) and then spent some of my hour wait having my usual appointment. Baby's heartbeat sounded great and I measured on track. My doctor decided to do an ultrasound due to the fact that with David I had low fluid during the last 12 weeks. The fluid levels were fine and he also measured the baby. By the measurements he took, baby weighs 4 POUNDS already and is measuring 30 weeks and a few days. I KNEW I was getting big! Dr. Mendez didn't seem concerned but did say that he would do another ultrasound in 4 weeks to check the fluid again and measure some more. Baby was already head down (lets hope he stays that way) and kicking as always. I kinda hope he just had a growth leap and is more along the lines of David's size (7lbs. 7oz.). My last delievery was so smooth and easy... I would actually describe it as loads of fun! Either way, I am really getting excited about meeting him!!!

School Days

David is really enjoying school! He walks in with no problem and often is sad when we have to leave at the end of the day. I have noticed him playing on his own a lot more at home since school began (whew!) and his interests are changing too. He is still obsessed with most sports including football, tennis(no clue why), soccer, and baseball but if sports are not around, he will play with other things. I have been trying SO HARD to get him to build Mega blocks and do puzzles with me at home. Of course he would have nothing to do with any of it. Until today... he went into his room by himself and started playing with his puzzle and blocks. Yeah! Now I just need purchase a few more puzzles for him! Here are some reports I've gotten from his teachers:

*He is really well behaved (and kinda funny).
*On the 2nd day of school he finished his lunch first so he decided to entertain the class by dancing. All his friends started laughing so he just danced more. He put on a one-man-show for about 5 minutes!
*He found a football at recess and brought it inside with him. He and another kid "played football" all morning in the classroom.

I am so glad he enjoys school and is making friends. Now we just need to work on potty training (maybe after the baby arrives!!!).

1st Day of School

David had a wonderful first day of school! He has been going with me to training, but today was his first day with his teachers and his friends! A sample of David's art work from the day :)!

I am VERY sad to say there must be something wrong with my camera. Most of the pictures I have taken lately are really blurry. But, he was just too cute not to post a picture of him before we left home.

He was so excited about school, he talked about it the whole time we ate breakfast!

And if I thought David was independent before, today shed a new light on just HOW independent he is... he ran into the classroom when we arrived and then as I was leaving I took this picture of him telling me about the animals. I wanted to give him a hug before I walked out, but he thought I was going to make him leave so he said "No, mama go bye-bye, I play". So I kissed his sweet head and walked out. He is such a big boy!

And then after school:

David decided to skip pre-school curriculum and go straight for Theology... he was laughing so hard when I walked in the bedroom and discovered what he had done! (I had just taken off his shirt to treat the stains when he got into Trey's books... sorry about the toddler gut picture)!

It's here, it's here!!!

Football season is finally here!!! This is my favorite time of year and we really enjoy watching games as a family. David was testing out his football this morning before it got too hot. We miss being able to go to games at Williams Brice, but still pull hard for the Gamecocks every Saturday (you might be able to hear Trey yell from Texas if you listen hard enough, ha ha).

David enjoys watching most sports on T.V. so I'm sure he'll love our Saturday night activity!

"What do you mean I have to wait until 6:00 pm to watch the Gamecocks play?!?"

"Let me make it clear... even though it is football season, I am NOT giving up my baseball bat and ball!" :)

Looking back...

Here is David at the beginning of football season last year... I can't believe how little he was!!! Notice the hat... we don't go anywhere without this hat now and last year it wouldn't even stay on his head. My how he has grown!

These pictures make me a little sad... although I LOVE watching David grow, it is happening so quickly!!!

And here is his slight attempt at "cheese". The boy really dislikes having his picture taken.
