He won't leave home without it!

To say that David loves baseball is an understatement. In fact, it doesn't even begin to paint a picture of just HOW MUCH he loves baseball. In S.C. he played baseball in each location we visited. At the airport, he had an imaginary game with a 12 year old little boy where he pretended to hit, throw off his hat, run the bases and slide. He wakes up talking about baseball (I can hear him through the monitor). He plays until it is time to go to bed. I shouldn't have been surprised at all when I told him it was time to go the other day and I didn't see him run to the door like usual. It took him a few minutes and when I turned around, this is how my big boy looked. He had gotten his own "my" and all his baseball gear. Now his glove, bat (sometimes 2 bats), and a ball ride with us everywhere we go. It is a really fun phase that we hope doesn't end, especially now that he will have a little brother to play with someday!

Baby Update (17 weeks):

I went to the doctor Monday and here is the updated info on our sweet little guy!
Heartbeat: 149
Weight gain: 2lbs.
Blood pressure: I can't ever remember
Current cravings: fruit, Sonic ice

Things look great! He did put me on iron supplements to help with my energy level and because I needed them with my first pregnancy. He also suggested I start drinking Ensure until I get my appetite back. I can tell it is getting better this week. We have been really busy with Wild Week at church so I know this post is a little late, but I did want to document this appointment. I go back in 4 weeks for another sonogram and regular check up. We are still debating names but I'll let you know when we actually decide. I had a crazy pregnancy dream last night that I had the little one, he looked just like David, and we still didn't have a name when we were leaving the hospital!!! Surely we'll decide before then :)!

Wedding prep!

David and I traveled to S.C. a few weeks ago to get some things done before "Aunt Cour-tee's" wedding in August! The week was full of traveling, but we also had lots of fun. Mimi picked us up really late Sunday night and we spent the first night in Columbia.

Then, after lunch at Groucho's, we headed to Papa Dock's house at the beach. As soon as Papa got home from work, he jumped in the pool with David. You can see how much David enjoyed the pool with Papa entertaining him!

On Tuesday, David and I decided to skip the meeting with the florist and wedding planner, so we headed to the beach. It was a beautiful day and David was overjoyed with the amount of "dirt" he had to play with.

He loved digging in the sand and feeding the birds his french fries.

That night we started the tux hunt for David. He was not very cooperative and we ended up having to bring home a few sizes and tried them on the next day. Aunt Cour-tee was so patient with the little guy!

Here he is modeling part of the outfit. I sure hope he does a better job come wedding day!

That afternoon we headed back to Columbia. On Thursday Mimi and I took David to EdVenture. I heard all about this facility in grad school and couldn't wait to take a peek myself. It was incredible. It will certainly be a part of our future visits to Columbia.

David loved the S.S. Minnow, building with giant blocks, shopping at "the pig" and the firetruck. His favorite exhibit was the drum playing in Timbuktu. However, he did not like Eddie the giant kid you can climb in. As soon as we had to change locations, he would hide his head and grip very tight!

After another visit to Groucho's for lunch, Mimi dropped us off in Bishopville for a night. David was so excited to see Dee Dee, Daddy T, Uncle Rob, Aunt RuRu, Bayler and Bridges. We were VERY sad to miss Aunt B due to work.

Dee Dee grilled out for us and we had a wonderful time playing in their big yard. The boys played until we couldn't see them anymore, it was so dark. Daddy T helped David with his baseball swing and then we topped off the night with bubbles and ice cream cones!

Friday we headed to "the upstate" for Courtney's lingerie shower. She got some beautiful things and some, umm, interesting items. Then, after a delayed flight we came back to a very happy daddy. I have never seen David run as fast as he did when he saw his daddy at the airport that night. We had a wonderful trip and can't wait until the real wedding day!!!

Both boys want to wish their Dee Dee a very happy birthday!!!

David has been walking around the house all morning saying "Dee Dee have birthday party?". I think he is excited that it is your birthday! We love you so much and hope you are having a wonderful day. Thanks for being the best Dee Dee in the world!

Much love,
Trey, Dani, David, and baby boy #2

*We might have to call back and sing happy birthday again... David has been trying to sing it all morning :)!

Well...

What a sweet face!

We are so excited! Here is "brother" (as we will call him until he has a name) showing off his manhood! All week I have been feeling like it was a boy... and truly would have been shocked if the doctor had said otherwise. It is amazing to me how much more "connected" I feel knowing that he is a he. We love this little guy so much already! And we think it is perfect that David will have a brother. He is 100% boy and plays nothing but sports 24/7 so he will love having a little brother around. Thanks for all your prayers and please keep them coming. This pregnancy has been much harder, but worth it!

We're home...

and up to our ears in laundry! We had a great trip to S.C. and I will load the pictures as soon as I find my camera in the moutain of stuff that needs to be put away. You see, the little one is still giving me a hard time. At 16 weeks and 1 day, I am sick off and on, have major food aversion, bad headaches and can't wait until David goes down for his afternoon nap because that's when I get mine! But, we are thankful to have these set backs during the day and we find out this Friday what we will be having! David has been saying "sista" with no prompting from us, so I guess we'll see if he's right. We honestly don't care either way and are just praying for a healthy baby. David also kisses my little belly (which is much larger at 16 weeks than it was with him) and says "hi baby". It is really sweet! I'll post pictures soon!

Dealing with Doubt

Trey had the opportunity to speak at Keystone this morning. His message was about doubt and if you're interested you can go to www.keystonechurch.com to hear it. I really enjoyed this particular message and hope it is a source of encouragement to anyone who listens.
David and I leave for a week today. We will be traveling to S.C. to visit family. I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to post when we return!

Enjoying mom's craving...

So, I guess my craving today is Ben and Jerry's Double Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream in a cone! David loves my new craving!

He loves ice cream and he loves to get messy too!

David eats it "redneck style" since the chocolate is hard to remove from clothes.

Thanks mom, this is great!

Outside fun!

Proof that no one needs to call CPS on us, David is fine. You can't even tell he tried to shave this morning (see post below). In fact, we spent the sunny afternoon outside enjoying the weather.
David has become obsessed with baseball lately. Yesterday, he watched The Sandlot from beginning to end. He went to sleep talking about baseball and he woke up talking about baseball. So, today I got him a soft bat and ball. He won't put them down!

I couldn't find a tee for him today, so he still hits it like a golf ball. He was so excited to go outside and chase the ball up and down the driveway.

And, as I become bigger and slower, David becomes faster and faster. I have to really run to catch him now!

Just like Daddy...

I just got out of the shower to find my "almost 2 year old" trying to SHAVE just like his daddy was doing this morning!!! Yup, that's right... David is bleeding from 4 or 5 little cuts on his precious face. He wasn't crying or upset at all, in fact he is more angry that I'm trying to stop the bleeding. Note to his wonderful daddy: find a new place to keep your razor!!!
