Hair cut #2!

Poor, sick baby (see post below). He was not the happiest little one, but at least now I can see his eyes!

David started crying towards the end, but the lady at Sweet and Sassy was very fast!

Everytime we try to take a trip...

David gets SICK!!! We are planning to travel to Myrtle Beach Sunday evening to stay for a short vacation and wouldn't you know it, last night David ran a fever as high as 104.4 (scary!!!). I got him to the doctor first thing this morning and thankfully it is only his left ear. The doctor has no problem with us flying Sunday and I think we caught it early enough so it won't be too bad. He was so sad though and we had a long night. Sleep is always an issue when David has an ear infection, but taking medicine is not! David LOVES medicine and cries when we take it way! I guess everyone has their battles :)!

Ashlyn comes to visit...

David and I were so happy that Ashlyn and her mom Stacy came out to Keller to have lunch with us on Thursday. Ashlyn has grown so much since we saw her last! Stacy and I taught together for the last 3 years and I am going to miss her a ton when school begins in the fall. I'm glad we are friends outside of work and I know we'll keep in touch. We had a great time!

David was way too busy to look up for a picture, he thinks Ashlyn is a little cutie!

Needless to say, I don't think David is quite ready to have an infant around 24/7 (and neither are his parents!). Poor Ashlyn!

Keeping us busy...

David's favorite thing to do at home is swing and sing! He loves for you to swing him and sing his list of favorites at the same time. He does his funny little clap as soon as you put him in the swing... he always has big smiles for you, no matter how bad your voice sounds!

Caught in the act! Obviously it was my fault for leaving David's bag on the floor, but David was so proud of himself for finding the Cheerios and shaking the bag open. You can't tell, but he is sitting in a small pool of snacks. He finished the whole pile and then moved on to find more trouble :)!

David is getting better with the sippy cup... he still won't drink a lot at a time but at least now he gives it a shot!

Puppy or boy??? David loves to play with this pool stick... he holds it in his mouth and crawls around with it just hanging out the side. Kinda strange, but you can't beat the smile he has while playing!

David also likes to play with balls. He watches Trey throw his balls against the wall and laughs. He has been able to throw for a while, but he doesn't have the best aim yet.

Thankfully, now David plays ball by himself... he throws the ball, squeals and then chases the ball down to do it again.

Climbing, climbing, climbling!!! David loves to climb on, through, over, in, and under anything that stands still long enough. He often throws his balls under the table so he can crawl through... what a monkey!

David still loves to rub his bumper pads when falling asleep. Lately he has been fighting his morning nap (which I am NOT ready for him to give up yet!), so he stays on all fours with his head rubbing the bumper until he passes out like this... too funny!

Kailey's Graduation

Our friend, Kaily Hernandez, graduated from Kinderfrogs Friday. We were so excited to share this big night with her. Congratulations Kailey... we are very proud of you!

Kailey had a very fun night! What a sweetie!!!

At the restaurant after graduation David used his new seat. Cousin Claudia had one when we visited S.C. and loved it so much, David's Dee Dee bought him one too. It is a life saver when eating out, especially now that David wants everything off the table!

David stayed up until 10 pm, which is at least 3 hours past his normal bedtime. He was so tired when we returned home he didn't even wake up when we took him out of his car seat. Trey loved cuddling with him so much he didn't want to lay him in his bed. You can see how long he in this picture, our baby is getting so BIG!

David and Daddy sleeping after a long, exciting night!

Staying Home

I don't think I've made a post about our day to day life lately and I caught myself being so thankful today, I wanted to share. I am able to be home everyday now that it is summer and I LOVE spending the day with David. I also feel like I have time to take care of my amazing husband and actually live in our house. I cook most nights and still have the energy to clean up and stay awake long enough to enjoy a movie with Trey. Now that I've had a taste of being an at home wife/mom I am even more excited about the fall and not having to work full time... Trey and I have made the decision to try to make it financially with me working only 3 days next year at a mother's day out program. I will be teaching 4 year olds and David will be able to join me at the same place in a class with children his age. David is growing so fast and I am happy that I will get to spend lots of time with him, but he will still be around other children which he loves. God is so good to us and we know He will provide if we trust Him. So far, the sacrafices we've made are completely worth it! Here are some pictures I shot of David while we were outside enjoying the day...

Happy Father's Day!

Today is Trey's first Father's Day! David couldn't ask for a better daddy and we are truly blessed to have such a wonderful person in our lives. No one can make David smile like Trey does and I think he admires his daddy already. I want to say thank you to my dad ("Daddy T") and Trey's dad ("Papa Dock") because they are amazing fathers and wonderful grandfathers to David. We love you lots and wish we could be with you today! David sends lots of hugs and kisses...

Here are some of my favorite pictures of David and his daddy:

Pool Time!

One of the best parts of being in a huge suburb of a large city is the community feel in the neighborhoods. They really do a great job out here catering to young families. Most areas have neighborhood pools with large slides and fountains. Ours also has "beach access" minus the sand. It is great for babies because we can sit in the water and it is only up to David's belly. It's a good thing too because the baby boy does not seem to like his baby float!!!

David had a great time watching the older kids play in the pool. We are so glad he enjoys the water!

David and his friend Bailey take a "snack break". I wonder if being around water makes babies as hungry as their moms?!?

Vacation to S.C.

David and I traveled to Bishopville to see my family while Trey was in Austin on a staff retreat this past week. We missed Daddy, but had a great time with everyone. My nephews Bayler (3 yrs.) and Bridges (14 months) have grown so much since Christmas and it was wonderful to spend time with them. I tried to take pictures of most events, but David got sick and I was a little distracted on some days. Here is a little about our fun week...

To start off the week, we had a cookout with the Teal side of the family on Sunday. Here are all the second cousins (back row: Bayler, Walker, David, Tripp, front row: Bridges and the lone girl, Emily Grace). The adults had fun catching up and David had fun playing with all of his "big cousins".

At the cookout Daddy T and David had fun picking grass, which is one of David's favorite things to do while outside.

David and Bridges had lots of fun with their Dee Dee!

David and Bridges were having so much fun playing together. David wishes he could walk as well as Bridges... I'm sure it won't be long until they are running around together!

On Monday we went to see "Aunt B" (my sister Brittany). She is working with Camp Thunderbird in Charlotte, N.C. David's favorite part about her job? Riding on her golf cart! He absolutely LOVED it! He was practically "singing" he was so content while we were riding around.

Daddy T was nice enough to drive us to the pediatrician since David's fever spiked up to 102ish on Tuesday. It was a virus so the doctors couldn't give us anything but at least we knew what we were dealing with. The virus plus teething did not make for the happiest baby on some days!

David had lunch with "the girls" on Thursday. From left, David, Dee Dee, Aunt Debbie, Me, Liza, Aunt Rose, Hope and Cousin Claudia. David still wasn't feeling well so he didn't get to play with sweet Claudia much. I am also sad that I didn't get a great picture of Claudia... I am absolutely in love with her! She is the happiest baby I've ever seen. She was so good at lunch that she slept through half of it. We loved seeing all of you!!!

Bridges and Uncle Rob were lots of fun. Rob and his beautiful wife Risha celebrated their 2nd anniversary while we were visiting. Happy Anniversary Rob and Risha!!! We miss you guys!

This is mostly the view we had of "the boys". They were all on the move!

Bayler was great with "Davin"! He was also a big help to me, running to get diapers and giving him his paci. It makes me wish I had a 3 year old living with us (well, maybe just a few hours a day)!

While I was home we dressed the boys alike to have their picture made. They were only wearing overalls, which was too fun! Don't I have the cutest nephews??? I'll have to post a picture when we get them back. The proofs were priceless!!

We were quite a crew walking through Wal-Mart with the boys dressed alike! It is amazing how many things you need for a baby on the road, especially a sick baby. After this picture we were off to the airport where David and I experience a 3 hour delay. But, thankfully we made it home safe!

Thanks for a great week! We miss all of you bunches and can't wait to see you again!

10 months today!

About Me...
- I love to eat with my fingers. My favorites are broccoli, carrots, spinach, noodles, bananas, strawberries, and zwieback toast!
- I like to wave bye, bye instead of clapping to music. But I think dancing is just as much fun!
- I have said "momma", "da da", and "bye bye", though not consistantly.
- I used to love baths, now I scream through them (we hope this is a short "phase").
- I point to everything and everyone.
- I can choose what book I want to read and then turn the pages for you. My favorites are Neighborhood Animals, Tractors, and Goodnight Moon.
- I love to swing and pick flowers from mommy's pots.
- I can throw a ball, make baskets in my basketball goal, and LOVE to watch my daddy throw the ball against the wall.
- My favorite songs are The Ittsy, Bitsy Spider, You Are My Sunshine, If You're Happy and You Know It, and Jesus Loves Me.
- I really like to climb on everything (see post below).

We love you baby boy! Happy 10 month birthday!!!

Who needs a playground...

when you have your very own dishwasher! This is what David was doing while I was cooking his dinner tonight. Enjoy our little monkey pics!

Standing by the dishwasher is fun...

... but I think I'll see what is up here!

Notice he doesn't stop because he made it on top of the dishwasher, he wants what is at the top.

I think this little development puts him in the "all boy" catergory!

A funny story...

So, for those of you who do not know my wonderful husband he is very handsome at 6'5". Yes, that is tall! He uses his height in positive ways often. For example, he can spot anyone in a crowd. Since I am vertically challenged at 5'3" (on a good day), I love that he is so tall. He also finds himself acting as a human jungle gym to kids, which is always fun. Well, tonight Trey found a new use for his height. We went to sweet Kailey Hernandez's 6th birthday party at Chucky Cheese. Kailey's sister, Avery (4 yrs.) is deathly afraid of large, fake, human like characters. So, Chucky the mouse was a very scary thought for her all week. A few days ago (out of the blue) Avery told her mom that she needed Trey to come to the party. When asked why, she replyed "Chucky could never reach me up there..."! So, she had a plan that involved Trey protecting her by letting her stay "way high" on his sholders. And, from the pictures below, it worked! She was in the booth crying when we got there. After Trey took her, she stayed high and watched the party with only a few more tears. I have the best husband in the world! Enjoy the pics...

Happy 6th birthday Kailey!!!

Proof that little Avery stayed "high" so that Chucky Cheese couldn't get her. Too cute!

David and Carter eating dinner together... it was too cute when they both starting "fake laughing" because all the adults were laughing. They grow so fast!

Avery wouldn't budge... she even ate her cake and ice cream with Trey!

David playing with Carter in toddler land. He really likes to try to keep up with the "big kids".

And, Avery is still sitting with Trey...
